Everything in Girl Scouting is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law, which includes many of the principles and values common across religions. So while we are a secular organization, Girl Scouts has always encouraged girls to take spiritual journeys via their faiths' religious recognitions.

 My Promise, My Faith

Girls of all grade levels can now earn the My Promise, My Faith pin, which complements existing religious recognitions and allows girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and Girl Scouts. Once each year, a girl can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin by carefully examining the Girl Scout Law and tying it directly to tenets of her faith. Requirements for this pin are included in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all levels.

 Religious Recognitions

Created by national religious organizations to encourage the spiritual growth of youth members, religious recognition programs reinforce many of the values integral to Girl Scouting and help girls grow stronger in and learn more about their chosen faith.

Each religious organization develops and administers its own program. The brochure "To Serve God" (PDF) lists the religious recognitions created by various faith groups.  How can religious organizations participate in Girl Scouts?

We welcome any religious organization’s partnership with Girl Scouts! Our girls come from all faiths, reinforcing Girl Scouts’ commitment to diversity and inclusion. Girl Scouts is one of the most in uential opportunties available for girls. By supporting Girl Scouts, your organization is opening opportunities for girls and adults to learn, grow and discover the exciting journey only Girl Scouts can offer.

Here are some ways you can support our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. 

• Meetings — Allow troops to meet at your location. 
• Recruitment — Each year, thousands of girls line up to join Girl Scouts. One of the easiest ways for girls and parents to join is by attending a recruitment event in the fall. Get involved by hosting a recruitment event. 
• Programs — Girl Scouts is more than cookies, camping and crafts at troop meetings. We offer a wide variety of pro- grams for girls of all ages! We have several program series that range from two to six weeks and give girls the opportunity to explore and discover new things.
  STEM — Getting girls engaged with science, technology, engineering and math.
  Anti-bullying — Girls learn how they can deal with bullying in their school and how to help their fellow students.
  Career planning — Girls as young as 5 years old are already planning what they want to be when they grow up. Now is the time to get them excited about all the possibilities! 
• Community — Girl Scouts commit to making the world a better place. Girls have improved their communities through service projects and advocacy. They take action in their communities and in the world by designing, organizing and implementing a sustainable project that will make an impact for years to come.
