Our volunteers are AMAZING! The love and dedication they show to Girl Scouts are unparalleled. Every year we present awards to volunteers at our Adult Recognition ceremony.

Volunteer of Excellence: Recognizes candidates who have provided outstanding service while partnering directly with girls at every age to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, or who have contributed outstanding service in support of mission delivery to girl and adult members.

Appreciation Pin: Nominee has performed service above and beyond the expectations for the position held and has made an impact on a geographic area within the council's jurisdiction.

Gateway Council Award: To recognize volunteers with at least 5 years of service who have made a great impact in the delivery of the Gateway Council mission and programs and continues to provide outstanding service beyond the expectations of the position to at least two delivery audiences, geographic areas or communities.

Man Enough to be a Girl Scout Award: The Man Enough to be a Girl Scout Award about recognizing men who are involved in Girl Scouts. When the men in a Girl Scout’s life step up to be Man Enough to be a Girl Scout, they are standing with all girls in our community as they strive to become women courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. This award spotlights community leaders who are dedicated to uplifting young women in all areas that make Girl Scouts great— STEM, life skills, outdoors, and entrepreneurship.

Honor Pin: For service provided by the candidate above and beyond the expections for the position held that has made an impact on two or more geographic areas within the council's jurisdiction.

Thanks Badge I: For outstanding service performed by the candidate that resulted in outcomes that benefited the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization or is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate.

Thanks Badge II: This recognition is appropriate when performance surpasses earlier achievement recognized with Thanks Badge I. It is a way of saying thanks again to an individual who contributes greatly to Girl Scouts. Service benefits the total council. Candidate must have previously received Thanks Badge I.

Tenure Pin: Adults may submit an application for a tenure pin. Total number of years (both girl and adult) registered with GSUSA count toward Tenure Pin awards. Pins are awarded in 5-year increments.
